Hello All!
Spring has finally sprung and there is so much going on in my experience that I would like to share with you all!
First of all, the June trip to Peru has been postponed till February and now I know why..... WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GO IN FEBRUARY!!!
I have recently spoken with Jorge and he has informed me that there will be a special event that is happening on Valentines Day at Lake Titicaca. There will be a group of elders from many of the indigenous tribes of North and South America present and we will be doing an activation of the Sacred Incan Solar Disk! (more info on this in the Articles Page- (click here)
What and opportunity to witness this once in a lifetime event! I am just waiting for our itinerary which will include one week in the Sacred Valley and another at Lake Titicaca.
We will also be there for the Candelaria Festival as Puno is host to one of the season's most exciting festivals. In celebrations that mix Catholic and pagan rituals, townspeople don colourful garments and take to the streets to honour the town's patron saint, the Virgen de la Candelaria. Accompanied by costumed devil dancers, celebrants carry a statue of the saint through town in parades and join boisterous street parties that take place day and night. As they pass by the cathedral, revelers are doused with holy water. The entire town is transformed by riotous festivities for the week in a spectacle that is not to be missed. Second, I have sold my home THE GATEHOUSE after living here for 15 years! I have decided that it is time to let this amazing space go and to move to the Coombs/Errington area of Vancouver Island. I am wanting to be in a place that is a little more rural where there are people growing food and really living in community and am looking forward to manifesting the right and perfect place to be. I will be renting for a while to check the "vibration" out there and look forward to getting to know more people. There is a community hall that has many activities and it is only a short hop to where my 91 year old mom is in a nursing home.
I am sure I will still spend a fair amount of time in Nanaimo too!
