Hello All, and Happy 2009!!!
As many of you know, I love New Years! It's like I get a chance to wipe the slate clean and start all over again. Kind of "reinvent" me.
Over the past few years I have taken part in the "White Stone Ceremony" at Unity Church. What it represents is a new beginning and the opportunity to live life in a new way...to dig deep within ourselves and discover a new quality and essence to who we truly are. After doing the guided meditation one listens to the new name, new direction and new way of life that Spirit is calling you to live! The ceremony symbolizes Scripture's reference to being given a new name, which is really about claiming a new identity for ourselves. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says ... I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it."- Revelation 2:17..
Last year for me it was "ONENESS" The year before I was "LIGHT" As I sat there deep in meditation, waiting for my new name to pop into my consciousness, loud and clear with no doubt whatsoever came "JOY! " Just JOY!!! Interesting that a friend of mine had given me a little heart pendant just the other day that had inscribed on it: "Joy fills every cell of my body"
As I lay snugly in my bed on Monday morning, I contemplated what I had to do that day, and as I meditated on the things I wanted to create, I suddenly had an epiphany!
"I am a human BE-ing ...not a human DO-ing!"
I pondered that for a while and really started to go places with it. I came to realize how much of my time each day, I spend doing stuff-whether it is for me, for others, for the strata, for the world... What I began to re-member is that I did not come here to get stuff done. I came here to BE.
To BE "enJOY" as the French would say, To Be abundant, to BE peaceful, to BE appreciative, to loving, to BE FREE!!
The DO-ing is how I get to en-JOY the BE-ing.
I am clear that in this coming year, I am really going to be conscious of what I am BE-ing, right here and now. That is really all we have isn't it?
"NOW"
My mom in her dementia has taught me that so beautifully this year. She only has "right now" in her mind, and I have never seen her happier (she is almost 91 and we laugh all the time now!) What a place to be!
As my friend Abraham would say....
"You want to be more Inner Being like, you just have to worry a whole lot less and laugh a whole lot more, and criticize never and praise always. And when you develop those patterns, you will be in the flow with your Inner Being where you will be intuitive, you will be dancing the dance with others that are like you and you will be just like these birds that are flocking together in pure harmony, always moving in the perfect motion and having a joyous time in the process of it." Sacramento 3.15.03
