Hello All
and welcome to my first "E-ZINE"
There is so much wonderful stuff going on in Nanaimo, in the
province and in the world, that I just have to share it with you
monthly!
(The plus for you is then you only get ONE email a month from me
instead of 10! lololo)
Just to let you know that
this is the last group email that you will get from me. Beginning
next month, only those that have signed to receive this e-zine
will get updates of what is happening. If you like what you see, You
have to do it yourself. I'm sorry, but I can't do it for you, it's
law now.

What a great time to start!
It's February, the month of LOVE.
Love
is way up there in the vibrational calibration ratings. According
to David Hawkins book Power vs. Force,
only Joy, Peace and Enlightenment calibrate vibrationally higher
than love! Love is really what it's all about, isn't it?
As the
Beatles said, "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!"
I heard an amazing talk last Sunday about how the ancient Greeks
actually divided love into 4 categories. They are Eros Love,
Phillial Love, Caritas Love, and Agape Love. Wow! For more
information on this you will have to come to our workshop on the
18th of February at the German Hall. (click
here for more info)
What I would like to talk about a little further right now is
Agape Love. I had never heard of it other than from Michael
Beckwith, from The Secret, who has a spiritual centre in Los
Angeles called The Agape International Spiritual Center, http://www.agapelive.com/ which
has over 1500 members. I have heard a few of his talks and there
is some pretty incredible energy coming from this man!
"Agape Love." So what is it? It is the most difficult of
the four to understand and to live on a daily basis. It's a love
that I can only aspire to reach some day at this point in my
journey. It's a love that is so emotionally mature, that it is
wider than any one relationship and has absolutely no need to
possess or control. This love is so rare, that I believe we only
ever see it in a select few, and even then we have a hard
time to comprehend it.
The person that comes to my mind is the Dalai Lama. I have had the
privilege to be in his presence several times now. Recently I saw
a movie named Kundun that moved me to the core. http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kundun The
movie is his story from birth to being discovered as the 14th
reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama and consequently his
appointment to be the Spiritual Leader of Tibet. It ends as he
crosses the mountains of Tibet and into exile in India. As he
walks to the checkpoint at the border, an Indian guard salutes and
inquires: "May I ask, are you the Lord Buddha?" The
Dalai Lama replies with the film's final line: "I think that
I am a reflection, like the moon on water. When you see me, and I
am trying to be a good man, you see yourself."
This movie is amazing
and displays this sense of Agape Love to me through a man who has
seen so much suffering. He lost his freedom at age 16, and his
country at 24. He has been a refugee for over 40 years and has
seen immense suffering and atrocities inflicted on his people. He
has even received death threats to himself under the oppression of
the Chinese. Yet, as I hear
him speak, he has absolutely no hatred toward them. I have heard
him say that "all sentient beings just want to be
happy." Despite all he has endured, he sets a true
example of love, compassion, and joyousness.
So let's eat our
chocolates, drink
our wine and be in our Eros Love as we celebrate this
month, but let's also aspire to live even a bit in Agape Love
as we interact with those we love, and even those that we have an
aversion to, knowing that we are all just reflecting back to each
other who we really are.
Warmly, Ev
